When you visit a restaurant’s page
We record that the page was viewed and which buttons were tapped — a reservation, an order, directions, a phone number, a menu — so the restaurant can see whether its page is working. That is the entire purpose of the measurement.
To do it we deliberately do not use:
- cookies, local storage, or any device identifier;
- your IP address in stored form;
- your full browser user-agent;
- any identifier that follows you between sites or between restaurants.
What we store with each event is: the page, the action, the referring site’s domain, any campaign tags in the link, a coarse device type (mobile, tablet, desktop), a country, and a visitor signal — a one-way hash combining your IP address and browser with the restaurant, the date, and a secret key. The IP is used to compute that hash and is never written down. The hash is different for every restaurant and it changes every day, which means it can count returning visits within a day and cannot follow anyone beyond one.
Because none of this identifies you or persists on your device, there is no consent banner to click. Requests from bots and link previewers are discarded rather than counted.
When you contact us
Email you send us — to claim a page, correct it, or ask for its removal — is kept so we can act on it and remember what was agreed. We do not add you to a marketing list because you wrote to us.
Restaurant information on the pages
Restaurant pages are built from information the restaurant publishes: its website, its menu, and public listing data. If a page is wrong, or you would like it taken down, this page explains how — removal is a request, not a negotiation.
Companies that process data for us
We keep this list short on purpose. Today: our hosting provider, our database provider, and our image storage provider — all acting on our instructions to run the site. When owner accounts and paid subscriptions launch we will use an authentication provider and a payment processor, and we will name them here before that happens. We do not sell or rent data, and we do not run advertising or third-party trackers.
Your choices
You can ask what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@srvd.bio. Because visitor measurement is pseudonymous by construction and resets daily, we usually cannot connect it to a person even when asked to — which is the point of building it that way.
Children
srvd is a service for restaurants and is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If what we collect changes, this page changes with it and the date above moves. Material changes to how we treat information will be announced to account holders directly.
